"The City That Never Sleeps" is the second episode of the fourth season of Blue Bloods.
Synopsis
Danny is being shadowed by a movie star, Russell Berke, who is trying to learn about being a detective for his next film. Initially, Danny is okay with it but after he discovers that Berke is carrying marijuana he tells him to go find another detective. Later Berke calls Danny because he was stabbed while out in the city. Danny goes to his aid but has to drive him to a doctor as Berke pleads with him to keep it quiet.
Things get complicated when it seems the attack is not isolated and Danny has to convince the actor to help him with the case. Meanwhile, Jamie and Eddie respond to a call of indecent exposure only to find a woman is complaining about a neighbor who is inside his own home, therefore nothing can be done. Unfortunately the woman is not easily deterred and keeps calling to report him, much to the frustration of Eddie and Jamie.
Elsewhere, Frank starts paying random visits to the officers in the precincts in an effort to make them feel as though he is still aware of what goes on at their level. Quickly he comes across a discrepancy with a highly regarded Lieutenant at one of his precincts.
