"Power of the Press" is the eighth episode of the fifth season of Blue Bloods.

Synopsis

When a drug dealer, who testified against a drug kingpin, is denied his witness protection, Danny and Baez hunt for a way to get him back in the program.

They approach Lt. Carver to find a way to make the Feds honor their deal, but she tells them that there is nothing that can be done. Disobeying orders, they continue to protect him and look for a way around the Feds' decision. Elsewhere,

Erin meets with the daughter of an old schoolmate who claims she was raped on campus but convinced not to report it by the school. She believed the school when they said they would handle it, but the perpetrator walked free. Erin looks for a way to get her some justice.
