- In real life, the situation depicted in this episode - off duty cop, with his child, in a store which is being robbed - is a routine training scenario for police officers. Without backup, communications, or soft body armor, and with limited ammunition, the standard recommendation is for the officer to do nothing so that they don't put their or their children's lives in danger.
