Margaret Dutton was the acting mayor of New York City.

Career

In late 2017 Margaret Dutton became the acting mayor when Carter Poole left office. From the beginning she butted heads with Frank Reagan over police procedure and politics. At their first meeting she tried to fire Frank but discovered there were too many people who liked him, and, as acting mayor, she didn't officially have the power to do so. Dutton resigned at the end of season 9 after revealing that she didn't want to do the job.
