"Love Stories" is the thirteenth episode of the fifth season of Blue Bloods.
Synopsis
Danny and Baez investigate when a homeowner shoots an intruder who turns out to be a hitman with known mob connections. While looking for a motive they come across evidence that both the homeowner and his wife were involved in affairs.
Meanwhile, Erin faces a young attorney who pushes to get a re-trail for his mother whom Erin prosecuted 12 years prior. As Erin looks back on the case, she discovers that the investigating detective made mistakes that could prove the mother innocent.
Elsewhere, Frank faces a dilemma when the list of medal candidates includes Danny and Baez on Gormley’s recommendation. He immediately rejects it out of concern for potential backlash from the department as well as the publicity it could generate. Henry reveals he made the same decision when Frank was put up for a medal years ago and has regretted it ever since.
