Delightful "Dee Ann" Carver is a Lieutenant in the New York City Police Department. She was the Commanding Officer of the 54th Precinct Detective Squad after Sidney Gormley was promoted.

Biography

When she was twelve, her mother died and she started getting into trouble. After being arrested she was given a chance to do a program called Rescue Ride instead of jail time. The program changed her general outlook and attracted her towards law enforcement.

Lieutenant Carver is known as a good cop and as a by-the-book hard ass. She acknowledges there were numerous people who believed she wouldn't last as a cop. She asks those working under her follow her orders implicitly and be completely by-the-book. Unfortunately this approach doesn't always endear her to those working with her, as they can view her stance as against them. She and Daniel Reagan butted heads immediately when she was assigned as his supervisor, and he requested a transfer to leave her. After an incident with a drive by and a suicide, Lieutenant Carver adopted the baby who was orphaned, and it changed Detective Reagan's mind about working with her.
