"Dedication" is the fifthteenth episode of the first season of Blue Bloods.
Synopsis
After dinner with some friends, Frank is wounded in a drive-by shooting and the entire NYPD sets out to find the culprit. Due to them being family, Danny is initially blocked from the investigation, at least until Jackie manages to find them a way in. Jamie is also upset that he can't do anything to help and just has to go to work like normal.
As each member of the family tries to help without crossing boundaries, Danny finally gets a lead, only to have the suspect murdered before telling them what he knows.
Meanwhile, despite the potential danger, Frank flat-out refuses to cancel his appearance at John Jay College to honor a hall being dedicated in Joe's name.
