"Critical Condition" is the third episode of the second season of Blue Bloods.

Synopsis

A bank heist quickly turns into a hostage situation when one of the customers fires on a robber before getting shot himself, causing two of the three to flee. The last bank robber eventually speaks with negotiators, his comments leading them to believe that he is, or was, on the job.  

Henry, Erin, and Linda watch events unfold on the TV and Frank manages to identify the robber as a cop who once worked for him.  

Meanwhile Jamie works with another rookie on a sting that involves leaving a bag of valuables on a park bench and arrest anyone who steals it.
