An American actress, Amy Carlson has participated in many stage and film productions. Her film career kicked off in 1992, landing her roles in productions such as ''Green Lantern'', ''CSI'', ''Law & Order: SVU'', ''NCIS'', and ''Criminal Minds''. She is most well known for her roles of Alex in ''Third Watch'', Maggie in ''Falcone'', and Katie in ''Peacemakers''.

On the Season 8 premiere it was revealed that her character had died in a helicopter crash.[1] Amy has since indicated she would be open to reappearing for flashback sequences to Linda's death, even admitting to wanting to show her death to provide closure to the fans[2].

Biography[]

Born July 7, 1968 in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, she stayed in the Chicago area until middle school when her parents took teaching positions in the Middle East. Since her parents, Bob and Barb, were teachers they took a lot of vacations in the summertime and Amy has backpacked all over Europe, both with family and alone. She has three siblings, two sisters named Betsy and Lori and a brother, Joe. A talented young woman, she participated in school theater productions, won writing contests, and placed in the first 3200 meter for girls' track in the state. Continuing with theater in college after an injury, she graduated from Knox College cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian History as well as her Theater classes.

Amy is married to Syd Butler and together they have two children, Lydia born 2006 and Nigel born 2009.

Awards[]

In 1998 Amy was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for her role in ''Another World.''

In 1995 and 1997 she was nominated for the Soap Opera Digest Award, also for her work in ''Another World.''

In 2004 she and her co-stars won the Bronze Wrangler at the Western Heritage Awards for ''Peacemakers.''
